Kitchen Floor Mat - Give Your Feet A Rest

Looking for a kitchen floor mat?  If you’re renovating your kitchen, one of the easiest ways to make it a lot more cozy and homely is to add a nice kitchen floor mat to it.  There are many different types of floor mats you can pick up, from foam floor mats, to vinyl mats, gel mats, reversible mats, it’s all a matter of what your preferences are.

Now in addition to making an attractive addition to your kitchen, they can also serve a functional purpose, they add an element of comfort to your kitchen.  What I’m talking about here are anti fatigue floor mats.

If you’re standing in one place for an extended period of time on a hard surface, you can begin to feel uncomfortable and develop aches in your legs and hips, a good kitchen floor mat however can be of help if you’re at the stove cooking for extended periods of time by providing relief for your feet and relieving you of any stresses you may be feeling.

A good kitchen floor mat will be able to absorb the shock which occurs when walking on a hard surface such as the kitchen floor and provide a cushioning effect.

If however your main issue in the kitchen is slipping and sliding on the floor, you may decide to install some anti-slip matting so that you may be able to traverse your kitchen a bit more safely.

Now you can pick up a kitchen floor mat in a variety of different styles, textures and sizes to match your needs whatever they may be.  Let’s take for instance the “GelPro Floor Mat” for example, this one comes in the following sizes:

Standard Sizes

20"x36"
20"x72"

Designer Sizes

28"x72"
36"x72"
28"x108"
36"x108"
28"x144"
36"x144"

As you can see, regardless of how big or small your kitchen is, you can pretty much find a mat that will suit your needs.  I personally have picked up a mat that is 22”x34” and about ½” thick.  I’ve placed this mat right underneath my stove where before there was just a hard wood floor.  In the past I would develop leg cramps and back aches and feel very grumpy after spending a good hour cooking each day.

With a good kitchen floor mat though this has not been so much of a problem as I got a very comforting mat which allows me to relax a lot more while I cook.

So as you can see, getting a decent mat will not only spruce up your kitchen, but it will also change the way you feel about cooking and relieve some pain you may end up feeling for standing in one place for too long of a time.  The cost of the mat you pick up is going to depend on the size of the mat you’re going for and the fabric it’s made of, but it won’t run you much, I got mine for around $24 online.
